- Created using the ancient lost wax technique, this bronze sculpture of a mother giraffe in repose is a lovely gift for any mother who has taught a child the ways of the world, or for anyone who appreciates these statuesque creatures. To create this statue, makers first build a model made of beeswax and encase it in clay. Once the clay hardens, the wax is melted to create a mold of the figure inside. Liquid bronze is poured into the mold and once it sets, the clay is broken to reveal the bronze figure.
